Rams Rally Past Porterville in Four-Set Thriller
The Victor Valley College Volleyball team electrified the home crowd on September 10, 2025, with a commanding 3-1 victory over Porterville College. The Rams bounced back from a second-set stumble to dominate the final two sets, winning 25-20, 15-25, 25-22, and 25-12.
A Game of Momentum Shifts
The opening set saw the Rams come out strong, led by aggressive net play and sharp defense. Naylanee Glover and Zoey Davis set the tone early, combining for 19 total points on the night. VVC took the first set 25-20, showcasing their ability to control rallies and capitalize on Porterville's errors.
Porterville responded in the second set with renewed energy, catching the Rams off guard and pulling away for a 25-15 win. Despite the setback, VVC regrouped with poise and determination.
The third set was a nail-biter, with both teams trading points and momentum. Alexus Rodriguez stepped up with 8 kills and 12 digs, while setter Parker Peterson orchestrated the offense with 33 assists. The Rams edged out Porterville 25-22 in a pivotal set that shifted the match's trajectory.
In the fourth and final set, VVC left no doubt. The Rams surged ahead with a balanced attack and relentless defense, closing the match with a dominant 25-12 finish. Rayleigh Lyon anchored the back row with a team-high 26 digs, while Layla Cheney added 13 digs and 4.5 points.
