Rams Face Off Against PCC Lancers
Victor Valley College had a tough loss today at home against the Pasadena City College Lancers, 14-17.
Rams fought hard and came out strong, scoring first during their first possession. After a 60 yard drive, freshman quarterback KC Moore passed to sophomore wide receiver Lé-Shaun Potts and with a successful extra point attempt by freshman kicker Carlos Garcia, VVC held a 7-0 lead over the Lancers.
The PCC Lancers answered back, ending the first half tied 7-7. Both teams came out ready to battle in the second half, with no additional scoring in the third quarter.
Early in the fourth quarter, PCC took the lead with a field goal bringing the score to 7-10.
After freshman running back Kenyard Edwards, rushed for 27 yards placing the rams on the Lancers 33 yard line, Moore passed for a 33 yard touchdown to Potts, regaining the lead for the Rams with a score of 14-10.
The Lancers responded with a drive to score their last touchdown in the 5th minute of the last quarter, ending the game at 14-17.
Edwards had a great game with 26 carries for 127 yards rushing (5.1 yards per carry) and Moore went 15 for 26 passes with 147 passing yards and two touchdowns.
sophomore linebacker Jordan Payne had a good day with four total tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Freshman linebacker Mac Miller had a total of nine tackles and a sack.
