Victorville, CA – September 19, 2025
The Victor Valley College Rams women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance Friday evening, defeating East Los Angeles College 4–1 at home. With this win, the Rams improved to 3-3-2 on the season, showcasing a potent offense and a resilient defense in front of their home crowd.
The Rams wasted no time asserting themselves, striking just over a minute into the match. Midfielder Denise Jimenez opened the scoring in the 2nd minute off an assist from Haley Pratt, setting the tone for the evening.
After taking a 1–0 lead into halftime, the Rams exploded in the second half. Forward Violet Whiting scored twice in quick succession in the 57th minute—first assisted by Aramari Gonzalez, then again unassisted just seconds later—to give VVC a 3–0 cushion. Though East LA managed to pull one back in the 57th minute, Jimenez sealed the win with her second goal of the night in the 70th minute, this time unassisted.
Jimenez led all scorers with 2 goals on 5 shots (4 on goal), while Whiting added 2 goals on 2 shots, both on target. The Rams outshot East LA 17–3 overall and 9–3 in shots on goal, dominating possession and creating consistent pressure in the attacking third.
Goalkeeper Sarah Fort anchored the defense with 2 saves and played the full 90 minutes. The Rams' back line, including Cristal Magana, Caprice Caasi-Freire, and Wendy Martinez, held East LA to just 1 corner kick and 3 total shots.
Victor Valley also earned 4 corner kicks and committed only 7 fouls compared to East LA's 10, maintaining composure and control throughout the match.
With this win, the Rams continue to build momentum as they head deeper into the season. Their next challenge will be another opportunity to showcase their growing chemistry and attacking firepower at Compton College on Tuesday September 22nd at 2:00pm.
