Victor Valley College Athletics is proud to welcome a new era of excellence with the appointment of Coach Adam Valdez as Head Coach of the Men’s Wrestling Program. A familiar and highly respected figure within the Rams Wrestling family, Coach Valdez steps into this leadership role after four impactful seasons as the program’s lead assistant.

Coach Valdez’s tenure as assistant coach under the esteemed Rocky Humphrey was marked by historic success. Together, they guided the Rams to back-to-back SECWA championships and a remarkable eighth-place finish at the 2024 CCCAA State Championships. His tactical mind, dedication to athlete development, and winning culture helped power VVC Wrestling's resurgence on the state stage.

His efforts earned him the 2023 SECWA Assistant Coach of the Year award, a prestigious honor voted on by peers across the conference—solidifying his reputation as one of California’s rising coaching talents.

A true product of the High Desert wrestling community, Coach Valdez also built an impressive track record at the high school level. His leadership at Hesperia High School contributed to three consecutive Mojave River League (MRL) titles and consistent appearances in the CIF Division 1 semifinals. At VVC, his dual role as a coach and part-time athletics faculty member for the past three years reflects his deep commitment to academic mentorship and student-athlete success.

With his roots in local wrestling and a vision for the future, Coach Valdez brings unmatched passion and recruiting prowess to his new role. His elevation to head coach signals a continued commitment to building a powerhouse program at the California community college level.

As he leads the Rams into a new chapter, Coach Valdez honors the legacy of Coach Rocky Humphrey—who will continue to support the program as second assistant coach—and aims to elevate VVC Wrestling to even greater heights.
