Coach Troy Hall has established himself as one of the most accomplished and respected leaders in Victor Valley College athletics, serving as the head coach of the Rams women’s basketball program since 2018. His journey with VVC began in 2015 as a men’s basketball coach, where he quickly built a reputation for leadership, player development, and competitive excellence before transitioning into the women’s program.
Under Coach Hall’s guidance, the VVC women’s basketball program has reached historic heights. He has earned IEAC Coach of the Year three times and was named State Coach of the Year in 2023, solidifying his status as one of the premier coaches in California community college basketball. With over 120 career wins, Coach Hall holds the distinction of being the winningest women’s basketball coach in VVC history, a testament to his consistency, preparation, and ability to build winning cultures.
Coach Hall’s impact extends far beyond wins and championships. His coaching philosophy centers on family, trust, and accountability, viewing basketball as a life tool that prepares student-athletes for success both on and off the court. He emphasizes team unity, unselfish play, and relentless defense, often reminding his players that “defense wins championships.” At the core of his leadership is a foundation built on faith—God first—and a commitment to developing strong character in every athlete he mentors.
A passionate advocate for player advancement, Coach Hall takes great pride in helping young women continue their basketball careers at the next level. He has successfully guided numerous student-athletes to four-year institutions and professional opportunities, including international and overseas play, while also prioritizing their academic and personal growth.
Coach Hall earned his degree in Kinesiology from the University of La Verne in 2023, further reinforcing his commitment to athletic performance, health, and long-term athlete development. Above all, he is driven by a genuine love for mentoring young women—empowering them to believe in themselves, trust their teammates, and compete with confidence.
