Rams Earn First Conference Win with 101–66 Victory on Saturday
VICTORVILLE, Calif. — The Victor Valley College women's basketball team secured its first conference win of the season in emphatic fashion, defeating San Bernardino Valley 101–66 on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at home.
Victor Valley set the pace early, jumping out to a 25–17 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and strong rebounding. The Rams widened the gap in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 29–13 to take a 54–30 advantage into halftime .
The Rams' offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point range. Victor Valley placed five players in double figures and showcased impressive depth throughout the lineup .
Mya Graham-Scott led all scorers with a game-high 33 points off the bench, shooting 13-for-20 from the floor while also contributing six assists and six steals. Stella Rynders delivered an efficient performance, knocking down five three-pointers and finishing with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Myla Gibson added a double-double with 17 points and a team-high 15 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor .
Jamiya Cantrell was dominant on the glass, recording a double-double of her own with 15 points and 12 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. Kayla Davenport contributed six points and five assists, while Kyasia Green chipped in four points and provided key defensive pressure with five steals .
Victor Valley continued to pour it on in the third quarter, scoring 30 points while holding the visitors in check defensively. The Rams finished the contest with 52 total rebounds, 20 assists, eight steals, and eight blocks, showcasing a complete team effort on both ends of the court .
The Rams closed out the game in the fourth quarter to secure the 101–66 victory, marking their first conference win of the season and an important step forward as league play continues.
Victor Valley will return home on Saturday for another key conference matchup, hosting Palo Verde with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
