Rams Take Both Games in Road Sweep of San Bernardino Valley

The Victor Valley College Softball team picked up a strong road sweep on Friday afternoon, defeating San Bernardino Valley in both games of a doubleheader. The Rams claimed a 4–1 victory in Game 1 before closing the day with a 9–7 win in Game 2, showcasing timely hitting, steady pitching, and balanced contributions across the lineup. 

Game 1 Recap — VVC 4, SBVC 1

Victor Valley relied on efficient offense and controlled pitching to open the doubleheader with a four‑run performance. The Rams finished with 9 hits and scored in key moments to build and protect their lead.

Offensive Highlights (VVC Only)

• Jade Whitman delivered the biggest swing of the game, going 1‑for‑3 with 2 RBI, driving in half of the Rams' runs. 
• Makyla Ortiz added a hit and an RBI, while also scoring a run.
• Hope Merrill reached base and scored once, helping set the table offensively.
• Haylee Stanislawski, Alany Esparza, Chloe Bledsoe, Brooke Miller, and Julianna Chavez each contributed hits to the Rams' nine‑hit total.

Pitching

Makyla Ortiz handled pitching duties and helped limit scoring opportunities, keeping the Rams in control throughout the game. 

Game 2 Recap — VVC 9, SBVC 7

The Rams' offense surged in Game 2, scoring nine runs on nine hits and capitalizing on scoring chances throughout the middle innings. Victor Valley produced runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, providing enough separation to secure the sweep. 

Offensive Highlights (VVC Only)

• Jade Whitman led the way with a huge performance, going 2‑for‑3 with 3 RBI and a walk, while also handling duties behind the plate. 
• Hope Merrill scored three runs, added 2 hits, and drove in a run from the top of the lineup.
• Makyla Ortiz went 1‑for‑3 with 2 RBI, continuing her productive day at the plate. 
• Haylee Stanislawski added an RBI hit and reached base twice. 
• Julianna Chavez scored three runs, drawing two walks and putting pressure on the defense. 
• Brooke Miller chipped in with a hit and a run scored, while Lola Sartoresi added a base hit in the win.

Pitching

Victor Valley used multiple arms to navigate the high‑scoring contest and close out the win, combining for the final outs as the Rams held on late.
