Bio

This marks Coach Barda’s third stint leading our cross-country program, and we are excited to welcome him back to the VVC Athletics family.

Coach Barda, who previously coached the Rams from 1998 to 2013, also led the women’s program from 2024 to 2025. During this period, he guided the team to three Foothill Conference championships and was honored as Foothill Conference Coach of the Year twice.

As a student-athlete, Coach Barda competed at Yavapai Community College, placing 5th at the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships, and later at Grand Canyon University, earning All-Region honors in cross country and finishing as a conference runner-up in the 10,000 meters in track and field.

Following his first tenure at VVC, Coach Barda served as the women’s assistant cross country and track & field coach at CSU San Bernardino (2014–2018), where he coached a regional individual cross-country champion and a multi-time All-American across cross country and track & field. More recently, he coached Anthony Solis to a 9th-place overall finish and 5th American at the 2023 Los Angeles Marathon.

He is also a proud father to his daughter, Raylen, who is 11 years old.

Please join me in welcoming Coach Barda back to campus.
