Rams Men’s Soccer Rolls Past Imperial Valley with 3-1 Home Victory

Victor Valley College Men's Soccer continued their strong start to the season with a 3-1 win over Imperial Valley College on Friday, September 12, 2025, at home. The Rams improved to 3-3-1 on the season with a performance that blended grit, creativity, and clutch finishing.
First-Half Fireworks
The match opened with intensity as Imperial Valley struck first in the 17th minute with an unassisted goal from Joseph Rosas.
But the Rams responded with poise and precision. In the 40th minute, Angel Valenzuela Armenta found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Anthony Hernandez, leveling the score at 1-1.
Just five minutes later, Alonso Lopez delivered a moment of brilliance, scoring unassisted in the 45th minute to give VVC a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
Second-Half Control
The Rams maintained control in the second half, keeping Imperial Valley's attack at bay. In the 70th minute, Dante Celis Sosa extended the lead to 3-1 with a composed finish assisted by Alonso Lopez.
