Former Division 1 and Professional Golfer Heads VVC Golf Team

Coach Derrick Williams has been hired as the new Head Coach for the VVC Ram Golf program. 

 

Coach Williams has dedicated his life to the great game of golf. Growing up, he excelled as a player and was lucky enough to compete collegiately at the Division 1 level at Michigan State University. After graduating from Michigan State, he turned professional and has competed in various State Opens, Mini Tours, PGA qualifiers and Q Schools around the world. 

 

Coach Williams has worked in the golf industry here in Southern California for 10 years. Previously, he has been a teaching professional at Brookside GC, Scholl Canyon GC and Valencia CC. He is currently the Head Golf Professional at California Country Club and also served as the Outreach Coordinator for First Tee Greater Pasadena. 

 

Coach Williams also has experience as the Head Women's Golf Coach at Glendale College from 2015 to 2018. He is excited to bring his wealth of knowledge to VVC and help grow the golf program. 

 

Derrick is married to his wife Luisana, and has 4 children Angelina (21), Maryana (5), Mario (3), and Miloh (1).
