William Funn
Head Coach – Men’s Basketball

Coaching History:
Coach Funn is entering his third year at Victor Valley College. He previously served as the boys’ varsity head coach at Pacific High School from 2017 to 2022, where he led the team to its first league championship since 1999 and compiled a 78-32 record over four seasons. His coaching career began in 2008 as an assistant at Worcester University. After leaving Pacific, he joined VVC as the first assistant coach under Coach Prentice Harris before being named Head Coach of the Rams.

Achievements:

  • San Bernardino County Coach of the Year (2017)
  • NCAA Division I Assist Leader (2005)
  • 10 years of professional playing experience overseas
  • Holds the record for most assists and steals in SBVC history
  • Big Sky Conference Champion with Portland State University (2005)

Coaching Philosophy:
Coach Funn believes that defense and rebounding win championships. He emphasizes giving 110% effort at all times and values hard work, dedication, consistency, and mental toughness in both sports and life.

Family and Personal Information:
Coach Funn began his collegiate playing career at San Bernardino Valley College in 2001 and later earned a scholarship to Portland State University. He played professionally from 2005 to 2015 in countries including England, Mexico, Canada, Ukraine, Romania, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Ecuador. He is married to his wife Ariana, and they reside in Victorville with their three children: Nalani, Yuri, and Enoch.
