Harris notches first win at VVC
The Rams broke into the win column Saturday
ALLEN HANCOCK - The Victor Valley Men's Basketball team earned its first win of the season on Saturday beating Santa Barbara College, 73-60.
The Rams finished the weekend with a 1-2 record dropping games to Allan Hancock on Friday, 84-52, and San Jose on Sunday, 85-71.
Coach Prentice Harris led his team to his first win at VVC. The Rams are 1-7 on the season.
In the win, VVC led 38-32 at the half and pulled away down the stretch. Joshua Ryan led the Rams with 19 points, including 3-of-4 from the 3-point line. Nigerrell Tubbs added 18 points and eight rebounds.
Tyler Basket and Blake Goodrow rounded out the balanced scoring attack with 13 and 12 points respectively.
VVC won inspite on 22 turnovers, while forcing six steals.
Harris will lead his team into another tournament the first weekend of December. VVC will play Citrus on Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. and then Santa Monica at Citrus College on Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.
The Rams open the conference season with College of the Desert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 15.
