Rams drop opener to Compton
Victor Valley opened the men's basketball season on the road and fell short of a dramatic comeback falling 79-64.
The Rams entered the game versus Compton with excitement and optimistic. Victor Valley started off slow and Compton College was just the opposite making 3 three pointers right after the opening tip. The Rams were plagued with turnovers committing 16 in the first half. Compton find themselves with a 19-point lead at halftime. But the Tartars could not pull away in the second half and found themselves only up by 10 with 3 minutes to play. However, Victor Valley with all their fight, could not capitalize and turned the ball over again, 25 in total, and the Compton Tartars found themselves victorious. Hesperia high school own Blake Goodro had 14 points and Oak Hills graduate Nigerrell Tubbs posted a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Rams next play Antelope Valley College at the Ventura's We Play Hard Tournament at Ventura College on November 4th at 2pm.
