Athletics Holds Banquet to Honor Past and Present

The Victor Valley College Athletics End of the Year Banquet was a night to remember as the athletic department celebrated the accomplishments and successes of its student athletes and coaches. The highlight of the evening was the inaugural Victor Valley College Hall of Fame induction, honoring two individuals who have made a lasting impact on the VVC Athletics program.
Willie Davis Pringle was the first inductee into the Hall of Fame, recognized for his dedication and commitment to the college for over three decades. Willie served in various roles at VVC, including classified professional, football coach, athletic director, ASB advisor, and director of student services. He was known for his passion for student athletes and their overall development, leaving a lasting legacy at VVC.
The second inductee into the Hall of Fame was Julia “Jaye” Tashima, who served as athletic director and certified athletic trainer for over 30 years. Jaye, affectionately known as Mrs. T, was a driving force behind many of the advancements and projects within VVC Athletics. She was a strong advocate for student athletes and coaches, dedicating her heart and soul to the department. Jaye's contributions to VVC Athletics will never be forgotten.
In addition to the Hall of Fame inductees, several student athletes were recognized for their outstanding achievements throughout the year. Brandon Furbee from the football team and Chloe Neos from the women's soccer team were named Ram Scholar Athletes of the Year, showcasing their excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
The Ram Excellence Award was presented to Brandon Bollinger from the men's wrestling team and Ebony Black-Smith from the women's basketball team. These athletes had exemplary performances during their season of sport and showcased their outstanding abilites.
Lastly, the Ram Coach of the Year award was given to Rocky Humphrey from the men's wrestling team, recognizing his leadership and mentorship of his athletes.
Overall, the Victor Valley College Athletics End of the Year Banquet was a night of celebration and recognition for the outstanding achievements of the VVC Athletics program. The Hall of Fame inductees, award winners, and all student athletes and coaches were honored for their contributions to the success of VVC Athletics.
